What is MindSlop? It is my art. It is the Image that clogs my mind then spills out on to paper or canvas in the form of some visual representation of my subconscious. I believe, that , in a way, it is the only real thing that is in my grasps. It is a glimpse of the other side, if you will. The intangible made tangible. I view the artist of today as a shaman . And as shaman we provide a channel of experience that allows us to show you, the public, the world as we see it. In my view of life I hold the imagination and dream world just as important as the reality we live in everyday.
There is a spiritual battle that rages on inside every one of us. This is why I try to balance light and dark , good and evil ,in my work . We are all created with a divine spark ,and born into sin. I try to walk the line and balance the universe of my inner mind, so my soul can grow, and these learning experiences will live on in my art.
As an artist my training is purely self motivated. I have been creating art my entire life. Other than public school art classes ,I attended no formal schools of art. My only teacher was my uncle Peter D. Dragovich the 3rd, who I have to credit with inspiring me in all my art work ,and in my opinion, is the only school of art that mattered. I work in mostly traditional media , such as pen & ink, pencil, oil and acrylic paint.
